A Notary Public has been established in Nepal to confirm bonafide persons during the preparation of documents and putting signatures on the document and to control illegal activities and provide simple and easy services of copy verification (attestation), translating documents and making affidavits of the general public.
If you are visiting abroad for study, visit, business, or recreation, you may need the document verified (attested) or translated into English or make an affidavit. In Nepal, only a certified Notary Public verifies (attests), translates the document, and makes an affidavit.
The Notary Public Act, 2006, was enacted on October 11, 2006, and has been implemented since February 3, 2007.
